Grades: 1-6
*This is a final assessment lesson I had all first through sixth grade student complete as part of the weeklong science camp I taught.
1. Provide the students with a wide variety of books about animals. Let the students pick an animal of their choice.
2. Give the students time to read and research the books about their animal. Have them take notes while reading.
3. Have the student make a foldable (like a brochure) about their animal. Have them decorate the front as their animal (Integrating Art).
4. Have the students write their facts about the animal on the inside.
5. Make sure to share the rubric with the students so that they know what they will be graded on and what they need to include in their foldable.
6. If time, have them share with the class.
